The workshop is an course held at and by each of the
participating universities, ending in a student conference
gathering all participants. The aim is to work in groups to
evaluate how a selected technology best can be developed futher.
The collaboration is online and at your home university, by the end
of the course you will travel to RPI to present and defend your
work in a student conference.
The objectives of this course are:
- In a project group research how a chosen method or technology
best can be developed further and explaining the fundamentals of
the subject and reviewing state-of-art in a report. The subject of
the project is within the scope of severeal suggest themes, most of
which involves micro- and nanotechnology. See

- In the report, develop a suggestion for an innovative idea on
how to advance state-of-art, based on a more detailed
analysis.
- Plan and execute your work so you to the extent possible can
perform basic experimental or numerical tests to support your
idea.
- Gain experience in the challenges of international research
collaboration and project planning.
- Develop your skills in the creative application of learned
knowledge in innovative ideas for solving a real-world research
challenge.
- Writing a report in international collaboration.
- Gain experience in presentation, defence, and peer review
evaluation of your work on an international stage within the
course.
This course is primarily intended for students about 1
year after obtaining their BSc degree (but others can join
too).
