About textbooks
This year, our main book will be Mining the Social Web, Second
Edition (MTSW2e), see below. You will have to buy this
one!
The book is very hands on and contains lots of detailed
resources related to understanding APIs of social sites, etc. The
book is essential for the exercises, but the lectures will not go
over the book in details - instead they will provide a theoretical
overview and counterpoint to the very practical approach contained
in the book. (Do not get the first edition!)
