Learning objectives (Specific)
- Compare your streaming app prototype against
existing solutions
- Translate the unique value proposition of
your streaming app into a fake landing page
- Redefine your user hypotheses based on the fake landing
page
-
Validate the user hypotheses by testing specific user scenarios in
a functional prototype
Lectures
Lean methods related to UX user experience, reusable design
patterns and rapid prototyping.
Group work related to week 2 assignment A
(General feedback from
friday wk1 hand-in).
Monday:
-
Landing page: create a fake landing page that captures the
unique value propostion of your streaming app and diffentiates it
from existing solutions like Spotify
-
Prototyping: redefine the user hypotheses
into sequences of screens that capture specific user
scenarios
to be qualitatively validated in a functional
prototype using
POP
for iOS or android, by sketching out the app functionalities
on paper as wireframes, import the wireframes into a storyboard
using POP, transform the storyboard into a functional POP prototype
with simple navigation
-
Presentation : demo the latest iteration
of your POP prototype and state what user needs it is meant to
validate
Thursday:
-
Validation of user needs : validate
your user hypotheses by testing your POP prototype concept with
members of the other groups to collect and incorporate feedback for
next iteration of your design.
-
Multiple device experiences : identify 1.
"consistent design" MVP features that could be optimized based on
specific smartphone characteristics, 2. "continuous design"
scenarios that might provide a UI flow across contexts,
3."complementary design" functionalities that could enhance the UI
based on aspects of control or collaboration.
-
Peer review: present next iteration of your POP
prototype app (max. 3 min per group)
-
Iteration: incorporate feedback and new ideas into
the design and upload your prototype before friday at 17.
Friday assignment 1 final:
- Link to report template: ACM
format (your choice of .doc or LaTeX as working format --
but only PDF files accepted as hand-in).
- See the CampusNet assignment area for further details!
